I'm inspired by the interesting textural details found in our environment and in nature. From metals aged and washed over by the effects of time to the rough texture of bark and the complex branching of an old tree. By a process of sculpting, moulding and scratching into the different mediums on canvas or board I incorporate such textural elements into my paintings.
Through experimentation with the different mediums I allow myself to explore new concepts which often take my work into interesting new directions. Guilded by my imagination I explore the un-known, un-locking a world of fantasy. The resulting abstract images are often open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's own imagination and curiosity.
