BIOGRAPHY
It was early in life that Carlo discovered his passion for art, as he spent countless hours sketching and painting as a child. Although born in Toronto, Canada he ended up living in Gemany for most of his formative years. At the age of 14 he returned to Canada to stay.
Carlo studied fine art, philosophy, mythology and photography at Centennial College in Toronto from 1978 to 1980. After leaving his studies he spent 16 years in various managerial positions in the business sector.
In 1996 Carlo became interested in the growing trend of decorative painting that was taking place. He began training at Ritins Studio Inc. in old world texture, faux finishes and metallic patinas. Shortly after he started a company called Faux F/X quickly gaining a reputation as one of the top texturist and faux finishers in Toronto.
However, his first love was always art and artistic expression and by 2006 Carlo was able to pursue his life long dream of being a full time artist. He spent the next two years studying with various accomplished artist and refining and perfecting his personal style.
In the spring of 2008 he started showing his work...an integration of sculpture and heavy textures in his paintings...to the public. His work has been well recieved by private collectors and corporations throughout North America. His studio is located on picturesque Lake Scugog Island near the historic town of Port Perry.
