"My creative process takes me on a personal journey of self discovery!"
Statement
“Wether I’ve been inspired directly by what I see in nature when painting landscapes or I allow my imagination to instinctively guide me through the process of creating playful and colourful abstract pieces, my aim is to evoke a feeling in the viewer that brings forth an emotional connection to that piece…which was created especial for them!”
Bio
Carlo received his formal training in Fine Art, Philosophy, Mythology, and Photography at Centennial College in Toronto from 1978 to 1981.
He spent his first 16 years in the work force climbing the corporate ladder assuming various managerial positions in the business world. However, his desire to pursue a career in a more creative field had always remained. By 1996 Carlo began specialized training with Ritins Studio Inc. Toronto, in high-end architectural finishes (Venetian Plaster, Faux Finishing and Gilding). He quickly gained a reputation as one of the top Painters, Texturist and Faux Finisher in Toronto as well as being commissioned for projects in other Countries.
His first true love had always been creating art and artistic expression in it’s truest form and as a natural progression by 2006 Carlo decided to hone his skills even further by devoting two years to studying with accomplished artists in the industry.
In the spring of 2008 Carlo revealed his first body of art work at the Toronto Art Expo which showcased his unique process of sculpting texture and painting in a contemporary style. Having his work well received by the public, collectors and galleries solidified the next chapter of his artistic career.
